FAQ

Whatever your question, we are here for you.

This guide can help identify and prevent potential problems you may encounter.

Is this epoxy resin safe?

Yes, our epoxy resin is MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) certified. It does not contain any toxic substances or dangerous goods. CE compliant.

Is it 1:1 ratio by volume or by weight?

By volume.

How much temperature can the epoxy resin resist?

The epoxy resin can withstand is 122℉ -140℉(50-60°C).
This is the highest temperature.

What’s the ratio of this epoxy resin? What problem if I use too much or too little hardener (or resin)?

The epoxy resin is 1:1 ratio by volume.Too much or little hardener(or resin) will affect the cure time and thoroughness of the cure. The curing time may be extended. It is also possible to create a mass that is not completely homogeneous and the exothermic reaction is too low to completely harden the work piece.

Will the temperature affect the cure time?

Epoxy mixtures cure slower at low temperatures. The temperature of 68-77℉(20 -25°C) is suggested.

What is the cure time?

About 8-24 hours.

How much working time it allows before it becomes solidify?

It depends on the environment temperature. You are allow 25 minutes at 68℉(20°C) to work before it start to solidify.

Can I use acrylic paints to color this Resin?

Please use Micah powder instead. Because it won't have a chemical reaction during drying. The acrylic paints will work and react. The heat discoloration is a"maybe/probably" situation that depends on brand/type.

Can I use a hairdryer instead of a heat gun to remove the air bubbles?

Yes, a hairdryer is okay. But a heat gun is the best choice.A heat gun can be used to pop air bubbles on the surface from a distance of approximately 5.9-7.88 in (15-20 cm).

Micro bubbles still occur even though I mixed slowly and properly in warm conditions. What should I do for that?

So,what you have to do is to warm the resin and hardener first before start you project. For example leave the bottles into warm water (around 176℉ within 2-3 minutes). To achieve a best performance.

Can I use a UV or led lamp to cure it?

Absolutely No. The UV resin and epoxy resin is totally different. The UV resin always requires a UV lamp to cure but epoxy resin cures by naturally. Please wait patiently
when curing.

Resin not cured after a few days and still sticky?

In environment temperature of 70°F~80°F, the curing time is 8 hours. Curing time is affected by temperature, the lower temperature, the longer time for curing.

Following tips can help for avoiding extra long time sticky.

1.Using measuring cups, prepare Resin A and Hardener B 1:1 by volume(NOT by weight).

2.Mix slowly for 3~5 minutes until there is no muddy. Make sure to scrape the sides of the cup to combine well.

3.Don't add excess resin dye.

How to avoid bubbles?

1.Slowly stirring when mixing Resin A and Hardener B.

2.Also you can use a heat gun to remove bubbles after pouring to the mold.
